Who I Am

My name is David Novak. I moved to Prague from the UK in 2021 and have been writing about consumer electronics since 2022. Before that, I spent several years working in IT infrastructure, which gave me a practical understanding of how devices perform under real workloads rather than benchmark conditions.

I am not a professional reviewer in the traditional sense — I do not receive products for review, I do not have a PR contact list, and I do not write about things I have not personally used. What I do have is a habit of buying electronics, using them extensively, and writing down what I find.

Why This Site Exists

When I first started buying electronics in Czechia, I found that most English-language reviews were written from a UK, US or German perspective. The prices were different, the retail availability was different, and the after-sales support landscape was different. A phone that was easy to get repaired in London might require a three-week mail-in process in Prague.

I started keeping notes for myself, then started sharing them. The site has grown from there. The focus remains on practical information for people actually buying electronics in the Czech Republic — what is available, what it costs here, and what the ownership experience is actually like.

How I Test

Every device I write about gets at least eight weeks of daily use. I test smartphones as my primary phone, not as a secondary device I occasionally pick up. Laptops become my main work machine for the testing period. Earbuds go in my ears on the metro, during work sessions, and on longer journeys.

I pay for everything I test. This is not a principled stance against the review industry — it is simply that I cannot afford to be wrong about what I recommend. When I buy something with my own money, I have a strong incentive to evaluate it honestly.

What This Site Is Not

This is not a news site. I do not cover product announcements or write about devices I have not used. I do not publish buying guides based on specifications alone. I do not accept sponsored content or affiliate arrangements.

If you are looking for coverage of the latest product releases, there are better resources. If you want to know what it is actually like to own and use a specific device in Czechia, this is the right place.
